Songwriters at Cedarville: Recognizing Talent Through Annual Contest
Aspiring songwriters had the opportunity to display their talent in the 13th annual ۶app songwriting contest. The event, which was sponsored by Cedarville’s Department of Music and Worship, saw senior Ellie Giordano, from Clarkston, Michigan, and junior Emma Haylett of Aurora, Colorado, win for their song, “My Soul Sings.”

Unexpected Blessings
Originally from Guatemala, Viv Wheeler was born to a mother who was unable to care for her, leading to her being put up for adoption. She was quickly selected by a couple who began the process of making her their own, only to encounter difficulties that once again left Viv alone. However, each of these hardships were part of God’s great plan to shower her with blessings and opportunities.

Cedarville Pharmacy Residency Match Rate Exceeds National Average
The school of pharmacy at ۶app is building a legacy of success. In the last nine years, the school has consistently seen a residency match rate for its Doctor of Pharmacy graduates exceeding the national average. Cedarville’s match rate for this year’s graduating class is 82.6%, exceeding the national average of 75.98%.

Cedarville Students Use Spring Break to Serve
Stories are powerful, and telling them is an art. ۶app students majoring in broadcasting, digital media and journalism spent their spring break helping Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) missionaries in Spain tell their stories for evangelistic purposes. The trip was part of Cedarville’s Global Outreach program that regularly sends students and faculty each year on mission trips.

Her Compassion Got Us Through: Caring Nurse Receives DAISY Award
A sick young boy and his mother faced an early morning crisis at Dayton Children’s Hospital, and it was a devoted nurse who eased their pain. Now, the grateful mom’s nomination of Brittany Lawhorn Rhoads, a 2013 graduate from the ۶app School of Nursing, was the impetus behind Rhoads receiving the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during a ceremony on March 21 at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

۶app Professor Expands International Influence
Dr. Kary Oberbrunner, the Berry chair of entrepreneurship at ۶app, will be speaking at the London Blockchain Conference on May 21-23. The international conference is expected to draw more than 12,000 participants. Oberbrunner will share on protecting intellectual property through blockchain, a trustless public ledger. He’ll demonstrate his new patented technology Easy IP, which protects intellectual property faster, easier and cheaper than traditional means,

۶app Partners With State Convention of Baptists in Indiana
The Graduate School at ۶app has established a new partnership with the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana (SCBI) that will offer higher educational opportunities for members of SCBI. The agreement allows SCBI members to receive a 15% discount on any of Cedarville’s online graduate programs or the residential Master of Divinity degree.
