The Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)
The is your secure login for the U.S. Department of Education's website, . It allows you to:
- Complete and manage your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Access and submit other federal financial aid documents

Completing the FAFSA
If you're unsure about how to answer a question on the FAFSA, just click the information icon next to the item for helpful explanations.
FAFSA Guidance for Graduate Students
When completing the FAFSA, use the academic year for which you are applying. Note that income and tax information should be based on data from two years prior.
Scenarios:
- Current Graduate Students:
Select “master's or doctorate program” as your grade level. - Undergraduate Students Starting Graduate School in Summer or Fall:
Select “master's or doctorate program” as your grade level. - Undergraduate Students Transitioning to a Graduate Program in Spring:
- Initially, you will complete the FAFSA for the fall semester as an undergraduate. Select “Other undergraduate” as your grade level. Your dependency status will depend on your personal circumstances.
- Before the spring semester begins, update your FAFSA to reflect your new status. Select “master's or doctorate program” as your grade level. You will then be considered an independent student.
- Other Situations:

Using the Direct Data Exchange (DDX)
When completing the FAFSA, students and parents must provide consent to use the Direct Data Exchange (DDX). This tool securely transfers tax information from the IRS directly into the FAFSA form.
In some cases, manual entry of tax data may still be required. For assistance, contact finaid@cedarville.edu.
Tax Documents from ۶app
The Accounting and Finance office provides the following tax documents to eligible students:
- W-2: Reports annual earnings and tax withholdings.
- 1098-T: Summarizes tuition and qualified education expenses paid to the university.
