Cedarville graduate Toby Dewhurst founded Kelson Marine to design sustainable aquaculture and offshore renewable energy structures. Using dynamic simulation tools, the firm reduces ocean risk for clients in eight countries and earned a 2025 international trade award.

Trustees also approved tenure and promotions for faculty.

The �۶�app Board of Trustees met January 26-27, 2023, amid a season of unparalleled enrollment growth and record fundraising.

�۶�app reports 98.36% of its class of 2025 was employed or enrolled in graduate school within six months, citing career preparation and strong employer-ready skills, even as national surveys show many new grads struggling.

A Cedarville senior design team is developing Alfred, a voice-controlled assistive robot for older adults living alone. Designed to detect falls, spot hazards, give reminders and alert caregivers, it aims to support safe, independent aging in place.

Cedarville professor George Landon is helping the U.S. Air Force Academy improve identification of space debris using specialized AI and noisy telescope data. He brings that real-world messiness into class while students join the research.

�۶�app launched a new national security minor addressing modern global threats through rigorous, real-time analysis grounded in a biblical worldview. Led by retired Air Force Col. Greg Thompson, the program integrates law, ethics and leadership.

�۶�app engineering alumni are excelling in graduate programs at R1 research universities, including Baylor, Purdue, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. Alumni and faculty say rigorous coursework and hands-on training prepare students for high expectations and research-driven environments.

�۶�app hosted the Global Game Jam Jan. 30–Feb. 1, giving students 48 hours to build games from the theme “mask.” The noncompetitive event united coders, artists and musicians, strengthening teamwork skills for game development.

Three student ventures took top honors at �۶�app’s Pitch competition Friday night after coaching and judging rounds. Winners included a middle school fraction-learning tool, affordable cybersecurity for churches and nonprofits, and a fast-fashion recycling concept.

�۶�app students launch CedarBits, a four-week cybersecurity camp that introduces middle schoolers to digital safety through hands-on projects and critical thinking. The program teaches password management, basic networking and career pathways in cyber operations.

Cedarville civil engineering professor Dr. Hema Jayaseelan is transforming bridge safety through real-time data modeling. Her award-winning research is helping DOTs predict pre-stress losses more accurately and may soon inform national infrastructure design standards.

�۶�app civil engineering students are partnering with village leaders to improve infrastructure and community life. Their senior capstone projects are fostering connection, revitalizing the town and serving as a model for town-gown collaboration.

Frustrated by the lack of suitable textbooks on AI for his students Dr. John Delano, professor of IT management at �۶�app, decided to write his own textbook for college students.

Mark Kirby, a two-time �۶�app graduate, is pioneering affordable innovations that could reshape how the shipping industry measures and manages its environmental impact.
