Cedarville School of Pharmacy Partners With Walgreens

ĆŪ¶¹app’s School of Pharmacy has partnered with Walgreens to create career and internship opportunities for students while providing tuition benefits and preferred admissions pathways for Walgreens employees pursuing graduate education.

ĆŪ¶¹app and Walgreens create pharmacy career and internship partnership

ĆŪ¶¹app is opening doors for future pharmacists through a new strategic partnership with Walgreens, a global leader in retail pharmacy. Through this memorandum of understanding, Walgreens will prioritize Cedarville pharmacy students for careers and internships, highlighting the character and competence of Cedarville graduates.

ĆŪ¶¹app School of Pharmacy reports strong residency placement outcomes The ĆŪ¶¹app School of Pharmacy has consistently demonstrated strong outcomes, with an 80% residency placement rate, significantly higher than the national average of about 60%.

The partnership also provides benefits for Walgreens employees.

Walgreens employees will receive a tuition discount on any online graduate program or Cedarville’s residential Master of Divinity program. Those interested in the PharmD program will receive preferred admissions benefits, including a guaranteed interview, scholarships and support from faculty and peers.

ā€œThis agreement is a chance to identify pharmacy technicians who have an interest in pursuing pharmacy school,ā€ said Dr. Thad Franz, associate dean for student affairs and professor of pharmacy practice. ā€œWith this partnership, they can receive resources from Cedarville and Walgreens so they can consider that pursuit at the ĆŪ¶¹app School of Pharmacy.ā€

Cedarville and Walgreens formalize an already established relationship

Walgreens and the ĆŪ¶¹app School of Pharmacy have maintained a close connection for several years, and this formal agreement advances that partnership.

ā€œStephen Grawe and Katie Sheets, key leaders within Walgreens, have taken the time to invest in our students and school in meaningful ways,ā€ said Franz. ā€œTheir work has caused many of our graduates to practice patient-centered community pharmacy at Walgreens across the state and nation.ā€

Walgreens scholarships support current Cedarville pharmacy students

Cedarville students who received the Walgreens scholarship this year include Luke Ayad, a second-year pharmacy student from Powell, Ohio; Princess Eziolise, a fourth-year pharmacy student from Dublin, Ohio; and Abigail McNeal, a second-year pharmacy student from Cedarville, Ohio.
