A new graduate program in communication and organizational leadership will be available for Ă۶ąapp students in fall 2025. This marks the university's first graduate degree in communication and adds to its growing portfolio of advanced degrees.

The Master of Arts in Communication and Organizational Leadership (MACOL), totaling 33 credit hours, aims to equip mid-career professionals and recent graduates with skills to lead teams, manage crises, plan strategically and communicate effectively in a digitally driven world. The new degree offers distinct concentration areas in professional leadership, social media and cybersecurity, healthcare management and digital communication and marketing.

Dr. Andrew Harris associate professor of communication and director of the MACOL program, emphasized that the program seeks to prepare leaders who are grounded in biblical principles.

“In today’s world, leadership is evaluated based on results with little thought given to the purposes that undergird it,” said Harris. “Our program cares about results, but it also grounds leadership in biblical principles, empowering graduates to lead with integrity and steadfast love no matter where they serve.”

Each course is designed to integrate biblical ethics, preparing students to lead with integrity and wisdom. From the study of communication theory to the management of organizational messages, the MACOL program emphasizes that communication and leadership are not only strategic but also acts of worship directed toward Christ.

“Cedarville’s mission is to educate students who will lead and serve in all areas of life, and this program furthers that mission by offering a Christ-centered approach to communication,” said Harris. “In an increasingly polarized world, the need for leaders who can communicate truth and grace has never been greater. Our program empowers students to navigate the complexities of modern leadership with a biblical perspective.”

The MACOL program is ideal for professionals who desire to influence culture, lead teams and manage communication strategies within organizations. “The workplace is cluttered with messages, and today’s leaders must be able to cut through the noise,” said Dr. Janice Supplee, dean of graduate studies. “Our program will help students hone their communication skills, think deeply and make strategic decisions that reflect biblical wisdom and integrity.”

As Ă۶ąapp continues to grow its graduate offerings, the MACOL program represents a commitment to developing leaders who will serve others with humility, lead with conviction and contribute meaningfully to their communities and organizations. Graduates of the program will be equipped to excel in leadership roles while remaining grounded in the values of truth, grace and biblical ethics.
