ĆŪ¶¹app students majoring in broadcasting, digital media and journalism spent their spring break helping Association of Baptists for World Evangelism (ABWE) missionaries in Spain tell their stories for evangelistic purposes. The trip was part of Cedarvilleās Global Outreach program that regularly sends students and faculty each year on mission trips.
āThis trip gave students an opportunity to apply their professional skills and sparked or rejuvenated an interest in long-term missions in many of them,ā said Sean OāConnor, assistant professor of broadcasting, digital media and journalism, who joined students on the trip.
Seniors Elizabeth Kollmar, from Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, and Maiya Munroe, from Romeoville, Illinois, told the story of Miguel Ćngel, the pastor of a church in AlcalĆ”de Henares, Spain. They helped him communicate the struggles of planting a church where less than 1% of people identify as Christian.
āIt was a really beneficial experience to be able to use my video skills to make a resource for a missionary that is dedicating his life to spreading the gospel,ā said Kollmar. āNow Ćngel has that video to share with everyone who is supporting him.ā
The Cedarville students spent long hours filming and editing videos and learning lessons along the way.
āHearing the stories of missionaries like Ćngel, gave me a greater passion for being a light for Christ and showed me how important it is to support missionaries that are dedicating their life to spreading the gospel in dark places,ā reflected Kollmar.
